This article covers a truck in SnowRunner; for another truck based on MAZ-7310 from Spintires/MudRunner era see: E-7310
The ZiKZ 612H is a truck in SnowRunner introduced in The Mastodon DLC.
The all-wheel drive heavy eight-wheeled truck is a further development of the ZiKZ 605R. Like its predecessor, this truck was created for the needs of the army, including for transporting large missile launchers. With upgraded features from the outgoing model, as well as a redesigned front axle, this monster is capable of traversing almost any terrain and carrying loads of almost any size.
Unlocking[]
After installing The Mastodon DLC, the ZiKZ 612H becomes immediately available for 228400 currency. Unless playing on Hard Mode or with specific New Game+ rules, a copy of it will also be found in the storage.
Description[]
A monster of a truck and the definition of a prime mover, the ZiKZ 612H is a juggernaut of a machine. The 612H is a returning veteran to the series. The 612H is based on a MAZ-7310 a heavy duty Soviet offroad truck built for hauling mobile missile systems. The 612H incorporates some sleeker design features similarly to its small sister ZiKZ 605R. The windows are slightly thinner and taller while the radiator has a raised section resembling a nose. Its headlights are also larger while the bumper lights are more numerous.
Mastodon is a second heavy truck in the ZiKZ family, after the ZiKZ 605R. The Mastodon and 605R have always on AWD and always on differential locks, both also have 61" all-terrain tires, but, unlike the 605R, the Mastodon is longer than 605R, it also has bigger 500L fuel tank and 61" chained tires. Much like its sister the 612H is more than capable of tearing through all but the deepest of mud. Its longer wheelbase works in its favor because it provides more surface area to accomadate its heavy weight. However the wheelbase can become problematic at times by resulting in a very wide turning radius. Furthermore the 612H is much wider and its interior view does not provide good visibility.
Mastodon can install the Avto-23 Heavy Crane, LP-4 Log-loader crane, a Flatbed, the Van Body Addon, Short Logging Frame, Seismic Vibrator Module, Sideboard Bed, Fuel Tank, IM50 Loading Crane, low and high saddles. Mastodon also has its unique long sideboard bed to carry 3 cargo slots, similar to the long sideboard bed for International Paystar 5600TS and Azov 73210. As an added benefit the Mastadon's bed has side rails which can prevent cargo loss in uneven terrain.
The most unique aspect with the 612H while using a sideboard bed and IM50 Loading Crane combo is the placement of the crane. All other trucks have the IM50 loading crane installed near the driver cabin, in front of the sideboard bed. However on the 612H Mastodon, the IM50 loading crane is installed on the rear of the truck. This unique setup allows the crane to more easily load both the sideboard bed as well as any trailer.
Renew & Rebuild[]
With The Mastodon DLC and Renew & Rebuild expansion installed, the ZiKZ 612H gets a new usage with its unique Fire Tank to carry Water across Ontario region with an capacity of 2500L.
Season 10 update[]
With the Season 10 update, the Mastodon can install the Medium Logging Frame, Log Carrier Front, Log Carrier Rear trailer, that means Mastodon can now carry medium and long logs and the Ramped Towing Platform. Besides, it can also install new LK-2NY heavy crane.
Pros[]
- Good offroad performance: It uses same 61" Mudtires from the ZiKZ 605R, which allow it to quickly pass through deep mud.
- High stability: Mastodon has wide frame and low profile, which results in it being highly stable and makes it a great truck with a heavy crane equipped.
- Supports chained tires: It is the first and only heavy truck in the ZiKZ family which supports chained tires.
- Supports IM50 loading crane + sideboard bed + trailer combo: Because the 612H has a wide frame, it can easily equip standard sideboard bed and IM50 loading crane, which is situated at the back of the bed.
- Supports saddle high/low + IM50 loading crane combo.
- Large 500L fuel tank: The 612H is a truck in the ZiKZ family which has the largest fuel tank among other ZiKZ truck, plus it also supports service kit and roof rack which add additional 190L. The Mastodon includes a roof rack with 350L of fuel and 450 repair points.
- Has 2 spare wheels.
- Saddle sits higher than the ZiKZ 605R.
- Trailer height is same as the Derry Special 15C-177, because heavy trailers sit higher than the saddle.
- Preinstalled service kit with 50L of fuel and 300 repair points.
- Preinstalled service kit usable with most addons, e.g. roof rack.
Cons[]
- Wide wheelbase: Its wheelbase makes 612H very prone to getting high-centered on rocks.
- Long bumper: Its bumper gets stuck on rocks, bumps, and ice. Same additions to the Azov 73210.
- High fuel consumption: Although the truck is in 3rd place by largest fuel tank, the Mastodon has very high fuel consumption.
- Wide size: The Mastodon is the widest truck in the game, the players need to be mindful of which routes they take with it.
- Cannot attach trailers with installed long sideboard bed, fire tank and short logging frame.
- Saddle sits lower than the Derry Special 15C-177.
- Trailer feet tend to bottom out due to low ride height, unlike the KOLOBs and BOAR 45318.
- High gear is slow, equivalent to the 2nd gear.
- Slightly less capable than ZiKZ 605R.
- Paid DLC vehicle
