The ZiKZ 605R is an 8x8 truck in SnowRunner introduced in the New Frontiers DLC. It is a returning vehicle from previous games of the series.
Unlocking[]
ZiKZ 605R is found on the Cosmodrome map in Amur on the course of Stargazer task. The mission is available immediately after unlocking the Cosmodrome via A Heap of Work contract, player has to repair the 605R. ZiKZ 605R is granted to the player as a part of the reward and player is able to purchase more of this vehicle in the truck store afterwards.
Overview[]
The 605R is a juggernaut of a machine and a prime mover at its core. It can handle most obstacles thrown at it and is capable of performing a number of roles.
Performance[]
In terms of performance the 605R is practically unstoppable in any kind of terrain. Its massive tires are comparable to those found on the TUZ 420 "Tatarin" and easily allow it to rip through the deepest of mud with ease. In comparison with similar trucks in role and size such as the KOLOB 74760 the 605R is far lighter but is equipped with an identical engine selection giving it a monstrous power to weight ratio further improving its performance. Its add on selection is also very generous allowing it to perform hauling, recovery, surveying, and logging making it a versatile truck. It can also hold an impressive 600 repair points and 200L of fuel making it a dependable service truck even if primarily intended to haul with its high saddle. The only real weakness of this vehicle is its lack of chained tires making it a poor choice on icy roads.
The 605R is equipped with a 380L fuel tank. Its light weight and high power to weight ratio gives it impressive power with above average fuel economy which in combination with its roof rack, makes it well suited for long range hauls with occasional stops for fuel.
Pros:[]
- Can match the best offroading trucks, even Antarctic and 745C (both have huge tires), beating most others in extreme off-roading.
- Beats most other trucks in extreme offroading
- Holds a lot of fuel and repair points with those addons
- Good stability.
- Always On AWD and Differential Lock.
- Has a good selection of addons.
- Good Power-to-weight ratio, which makes it a very good truck for heavy loads
Cons:[]
- No chained tires, making it a poor choice for icy maps like Amur regions
- Lacks the IM50 Loading Crane, preventing it from self-loading despite its high capacity.
- Incompatible with Saddle Low, and by proxy many common Semi-Trailers
Upgrades[]
The 605R does not have any unique vehicle specific upgrades. It uses the standard heavy Russian engine upgrades and the heavy gearbox options.
Design[]
The 605R is primarily based on a MAZ-537 and closely resembles a modernized take on the vehicle, the vehicle design also appears to use inspiration from the ZIL-135. It features a more streamlined appearance with some very prominent changes. each corner of the cab and sides are angled giving the vehicle its streamlined appearance akin to the curved corners seen in the ZIL-135. Its headlights and turn signals are noticeably smaller as well and the turn signal placement draws further similarities to a ZIL-135. The front bumper is a bit smaller as well and has built in fog lights but the bumper retains its tow hook. The bumper also curves around the front of the vehicle and wraps around the entire front section of the vehicle giving it a smoother appearance. The driver and passenger windows have more rounded edges as opposed to sharp corners and the lower corners positioned closer to the rear of the cab are angular. Overall besides its more modern looking design and smoother curves in the body, the 605-R is very similar to its real world inspiration with some design features being identical to its real world counterpart. One obvious example of this is the vehicles use of independent suspension with torsion bars on its front 2 axles with independent walking beam suspension on its rear axles.
