Tires are a gameplay mechanic and customizable feature on almost every truck in SnowRunner.

Overview[]

Unlike MudRunner/Spintires where tires were unique to specific vehicles and were unable to be changed, SnowRunner now offers different types of tires that have unique handling traits for different kinds of terrain.

There are 5 categories of tires in SnowRunner, Highway, All terrain, Off-road, Mud, and Chained. Most vehicles can be equipped with different selections from each class of tire and not every truck has access to all 5 types. A few vehicles, such as the Pacific P16 and TUZ 420 "Tatarin", have no other tire options beyond their default ones.

Highway tires offer the highest traction of paved surfaces, but perform poorly on other surfaces. This makes them ideal for the few vehicles that are primarily designed for road use. Many American trucks are equipped with highway tires at stock.

All terrains are a balanced mix for any kind of terrain. Although they're outclassed by all other tires, they offer balanced performance on all surfaces. All terrains are usually equipped at stock for heavy class trucks and many Russian trucks.

Off-road Tires have lower traction on roads, but are slightly better in mud and dramatically better on dirt. It is often the ultimate option against Mud for American trucks, as they tend not to have Mud Tires.

Mud tires, as their names suggest, are best used in muddy and snowy surfaces with decent traction on dirt, but not so much on the road. Some Heavy trucks like the Caterpillar 745C and KOLOB 74760 have only mud tires. Others also offer super single wide mud tires as an option, such as the Tayga 6436, ANK MK38 and ANK MK38 CIVILIAN.

Chained tires are the final tire class unlocked and are designed for use in cold regions. Chained Tires are usually variants of existing All-Terrain Tires with minor differences, other than ignoring traction penalties on ice. Partially chained tire sets will only apply these to the chained ones, and others retain their performance from their base counterparts.
