The TUZ 166 is an off-road car in SnowRunner.
An old guard Eastern Bloc off-roader, this vehicle was designed to transport high command officers in combat missions. The truck's stock engine doesn't compare with modern equivalents, but it has enormous potential if the engine is tuned or replaced with something more capable. Careful tuning will transform this old dog into an all-terrain monster. While it does lack utility, it'll tear through dirt like nobody's business.
Description[]
The TUZ 166 is primarily based of the GAZ-69A with some changes. The 166 possesses a different grill design and its headlights are positioned closer to the edges of its fenders.
The TUZ 166 is unique from most other scouts that it has an engine and transmission option both unique to it. The Kr 37 model 166 engine has low power but decent torque allowing the vehicle to get through tough terrain with surprising fuel efficiency and its Archaic gearbox provides it with 3 speeds at the cost of subpar fuel economy in comparison to other scout gearboxes.
The 166 can be fitted with a more modern, powerful engine providing it with extra power, this greatly increases its speed and torque making it viable for mud and snow.
The 166 has the 3rd smallest fuel tank in the game at 60L, only more than Don 71 (42L) and KHAN Marshall (40L) tank. However much like the Don 71 the TUZ 166 is extremely fuel efficient with its original engine, and it can be equipped with an alternative gearbox to improve this.

- Light weight gives it a good power to weight ratio with engine upgrades.
- Diff. lock and AWD are always on.
Cons[]
- Roof rack provides a very small amount of spare fuel with no repair points - 40L Fuel, & 4 Spare Tires.
- Optional spare wheel on back bumper prevents scout trailers from being hitched.
- Stock engine is very weak.
- Fuel tank size is below average for its class.

- A free TUZ 166 can be obtained in Drowned Lands by completing the Lost in The Rocks task.
Upgrade locations[]
- Raised Suspension - Drowned Lands Taymyr, north of the factory and southwest of the repair station.
- Tuned Custom Suspension - Quarry Taymyr, located southwest of the quarry. It is very close to a watchtower just south of the upgrade.
