Suspension is a gameplay mechanic in the Spintires series and customizable vehicle component in SnowRunner.
Description[]
Suspension is a vital component to a vehicles capability in off-road terrain and ability to haul heavy loads. Suspension has numerous jobs including keeping the vehicles wheels in contact with the terrain as much as possible and to absorb any shocks to protect the cargo and other vehicle components from damage, suspension also determines a vehicles ground clearance. Ground clearance can vary greatly depending on if the vehicle is intended for offroad use or driving on paved roads.
There are 5 types of suspensions introduced in the base game of SnowRunner - stock, raised and tuned custom, Search & Recover expansion introduced the new type of suspension - active suspension and Jeep Dual Pack introduced the unique suspension available only for Jeep Wrangler scout, the crawler suspension. Some of vehicles has no suspension upgrades.

StockStock suspension is a type of suspension that is by default installed on every vehicle after purchasing. The price of suspensions is different. Some of vehicles cannot take off the stock suspension because they haven't suspension upgrades. |
RaisedRaised suspension is a larger type of suspension. While being installed, the player can install the larger tires. All raised suspensions for vehicles are spawning on every map, except vehicles from standalone DLCs, ANK MK38 CIVILIAN, Step 39331 "Pike" and Mack Defense M917. Voron AE-4380 got its raised suspension in the 7.0 update, and International Transtar 4070A got its raised suspension in the Haul & Hustle expansion.

Tuned CustomTuned custom suspension is an ultimate type of suspension which being available on every scout, including ANK MK38 offroad truck and GMC Brigadier 8000 heavy-duty truck. ANK MK38 got its tuned custom suspension in the Explore & Expand expansion.

ActiveActive suspension is a type of suspension introduced in the Search & Recover expansion. The active suspension allows player to manually control suspension height. ANK MK38, and both KOLOB trucks got its active suspension in the Explore & Expand expansion, Azov 73210 got its active suspension in the New Frontiers expansion and DAN 96320 got its active suspension in the Haul & Hustle expansion. All active suspensions, except for ANK MK38 CIVILIAN and some trucks from standalone DLCs spawning on some maps. TUZ 16 "Actaeon"'s active suspension can be unlocked by reaching rank 26. All active suspensions are the most expensive suspensions in the game.

- When the Active suspension was added to the game, only unbranded vehicles were receiving this upgrade, Western Star 47X NF 1424 was first licensed one to have Active suspension available, soon followed by the Mack Defense M917.
