The Sleiter ST 816 "Elephant" is a 6x6 truck in SnowRunner, introduced as a part of the Oil & Dirt expansion.
Unlocking[]
The Elephant is unlocked by completing the mission Flexible Solution which is split into two stages;
- Stage 1: Deliver the Coiled Tubing Semi-Trailer to the Oil Platform
- Stage 2: Refuel the Sleiter ST 816 "Elephant"
Upon completion, you will be rewarded with 900 experience, 11850 credits, and the Sleiter ST 816 "Elephant".
Description[]
The vehicle was originally planned to be licensed.
The real life equivalent, the TB800, started as a prototype designed by KFM (Kaiserslauterner Fahrzeug und Maschinenbau AG) a Swiss based firm, in 1980. The prototype was named the TB600 Desert Lion, and the completed prototype was showcased at Frankfurt Truck Show in September 1984.
Hiwever, KFM encountered financial problems, so the project was adopted by BREC (Belgian Railway Equipment Company) which also ran into problems, and later BREC collaborated with MOL to complete the project. BREC and MOL started to develop TB800, an upgraded version of the original TB600.
Powered by a MVWM V12 engine with an output of 816 hp, the payload of the tractor was 61 tons but able to tow twice that. In 1997 EL-Amana, an Algerian based oversize load transport company, received its first TB800 unit. EL-Amana used both the TB600 and TB800 in semi truck and ballast tractor configuration, in conjunction with hydraulic modular trailers.
The Elephant is a large vehicle, being comparable to the KOLOB trucks. Unlike KOLOBs, this heavy machine can carry a roof rack, and can install its unique crane, together with a high saddle.
Pros[]
- Unique tires
- Has large saddle height
- Wide, heavy vehicle
- Can equip saddle with its own crane
- Roof rack support
Cons[]
- Its unique multipurpose gearbox has a 30 percent AWD penalty, which makes it very fuel hungry when installed.

Trivia[]
The mention of MOL TB800 (left) and its removation in December 2024 edit of the port (right)
- The vehicle has two different names:
- Originally, the Sleiter ST 816 "Elephant" was planned to be licensed (MOL TB800). This was the first time that an upcoming DLC vehicle intended to be licensed, was remade to be fictional because the developers lost the license of the original manufacturer:
- Firstly, on 22 October 2024, developer Evgeyniy Sorokin confirmed that MOL TB800 will be featured in Season 15 for SnowRunner, mentioning that TB800 is his favorite MOL vehicle.
- In November Driver's Diary, that was released to the Focus Community, 29 November 2024, it was confirmed that the MOL TB800 would be featured as a licensed vehicle in SnowRunner's Season 15. In the middle of December 2024, the November Driver's Diary was updated, stating that the MOL TB800 was being removed.
- In the December Driver's Diary, released to the Focus Community on 26 December 2024, the leak of the Season 15's truck appeared. The truck looks like the MOL TB800: the snorkels, hood and roof looked like the TB800's one, but the cabin looked different (i.e. unlike the licensed one, the cabin is almost same as Derry Longhorn 3194 one), meaning that MOL TB800 would now no longer be licensed in SnowRunner. The developers had officially lost the 'MOL' license.
- When it came on the PTS for the first time, it had no name and was simply called: UI_VEHICLE_SLEITER_MFK816. Based on its filename, the Elephant was called: "Sleiter MFK816" like its filename, and then, in a later PTS update (and in the Oil & Dirt Expansion release) it now had its real name: the Sleiter ST 816 "Elephant".
- Originally, the Sleiter ST 816 "Elephant" was planned to be licensed (MOL TB800). This was the first time that an upcoming DLC vehicle intended to be licensed, was remade to be fictional because the developers lost the license of the original manufacturer:
- The Elephant's SLEI-64 loading Crane looks similar to the KRS 58 "Bandit"'s loading crane, but, unlike the KRS one, the SLEI-64's is rear-facing and has a yellow color, to fit the ST 816's stock colors.
- Sleiter ST 816's sounds are reminiscent of the sounds of:
- ZiKZ 605R - his driving sound, its honk sound is also slowed version of 605R's honk
- ZiKZ 612H - engine startup
- Kenworth 963 - reverse beep (althrough Kenworth W990 and Kenworth C500 use it)
