The PLAD 450 is a truck in SnowRunner, introduced in the Dig & Drill expansion.
A mighty tractor unit created to carry bulky cargo under challenging conditions. The stock version is equipped with a reasonably powerful diesel engine, a permanent diff lock, and on-demand AWD. ensuring high maneuverability and reliability. The PLAD 450 is used in the UK and South Africa, primarily in construction and mining.
Unlocking[]
The PLAD 450 is found on the Zherbai Quarries map in Almaty Region on the course of Not a Roller Coaster task. The mission is available immediately after visiting Zherbai Quarries; the player has to deliver 1 load of Oversized Cargo to the Old Slate Quarry, deliver the 450 and the wide flatbed high saddle semitrailer to the Logistics Center, then repair and refuel the 450. The PLAD 450 is granted to the player as part of the reward and will become available to buy in the truck store afterwards.
Description[]
The PLAD 450 is based off the Faun Goliath 8x8, a heavy 8x8 truck produced by FAUN. The PLADs design remains relatively the same with a few key differences. The PLADs front fenders are slightly taller and have a more notable angle where they meet the front bumper. The fenders are also angled for both front wheels while the Goliaths fenders remain flat. The rear fenders on the PLAD also lack a dividing piece for the rear axles while also remain taller than the Goliath. The PLADs grill is slightly changed as well and has 2 horizontal pieces while the Goliaths grill is mostly open. The PLAD wheels are also split rims while the Goliath uses disc wheels. Many of the other features on the truck remain relatively unchanged such as the bumper and its 2 pairs of fog lights and air filter placement.
The PLAD is an extremely capable vehicle for harsh terrain and heavy hauling. It utilizes a pair of unique engines that provide exceptional power outclassing the standard heavy engines. Its unique tire options also provide superb traction in mud and dirt allowing it to rip through harsh terrain with assistance from its always on differential lock. Furthermore due the vehicles low center of mass and wide wheelbase it is exceptionally stable. The PLAD can also support a variety of add-ons allowing it to fill a number of different roles. Among its add-on selection is a unique sideboard bed which provides enough space to fit a small loading crane or spare tire. Furthermore the truck can equip a roof rack allowing it to serve as a service truck or long distance hauler. Overall it performs very similar to other heavy class trucks of similar size such as the Tatra T813 but with more adaptability. The PLAD is also able to haul every size of log making it an effective logging truck.
The PLAD 450 uses the standard old north american heavy engines like the Westline V12 but it also has access to 2 unique engines, the Datz 12-513C and Fanis 19-450KT. The Datz is more reliable and efficient on fuel consumption but the Fanis has more power. This further increases the vehicles potential uses depending on what the driver requires. The PLAD 450 supports special gearboxes, it also supports the unique multipurpose gearbox, which has 6 gears, but has no L+ and L- gears unlike the Advanced Special gearbox from Alaska. The multipurpose gearbox makes PLAD faster due to having 6 gears. The PLADs standard wheels are available in both 59" and 63" sizes. The standard tires perform well in dirt and mud and thanks to the vehicles relatively slow speed gives it good control on asphalt despite a poor traction rating on paved surfaces. It is important to note that the aftermarket tires for the truck are much heavier which can work in the trucks favor by providing additional traction. The standard tires for the truck have a mass of 200 kilograms while the specialized variants have a mass of 600 kilograms.
The PLAD has a slightly below average fuel tank size of 300L, due to the truck's fuel hungry engine choices it does burn through fuel rather quickly. Its roof rack does greatly assist its operating range but caution should still be used to ensure that the truck can keep its tanks full and engines fed.

Trivia[]
- Unique PLAD Float Body is based on the sideboard body used on the Faun HZ 70.80 truck.
- The description of PLAD 450 is a reference to the real-life Faun Goliath: in January 1989, three new and identical Goliaths started their career in the UK, and were sent to work in South Africa in 2010. In-game description of the truck says that it was used in the UK and South Africa in construction and mining, which is the reference that the real-life Faun Goliath was used for jobs in the UK and South Africa.
- Its top engine name, the Fanis 19-450KT, is a reference to the Cummins KT19-450 engine which was used on the real-life Faun Goliath 8x8.
- In-game PLAD 450 comes with the Romanian license plate for Bucharest, its license plate reads "B 105 TRT". The design of its license plate is a reference to the IRL Faun Goliath's license plate types, the "Fxxx xxx", which are the signs to the Goliath's model.
