The Kenworth W990[1] is a licensed 8x4 truck in SnowRunner, introduced as a part of the Kenworth W990 DLC.
One of the newest Kenworth trucks. It is equipped with a powerful engine, a modern transmission with a differential lock, and its updated design provides more efficient aerodynamics and lower fuel consumption. This model is also equipped with a lifting axle, which allows better distribution of the weight of the truck. And the length of its frame is enough to install various equipment from fuel tanks to loading cranes.
Unlocking[]
After installing Kenworth W990 DLC, one copy of Kenworth W990 will be immediately found in the Truck Storage to be used without any additional in-game costs, unless player is playing on Hard Mode or with specific New Game+ rules. No matter the played game mode, Kenworth W990 can be purchased from the Truck Store for 124400 currency.
Description[]
The W990 was introduced in 2018 as flagship conventional of the Kenworth model line. Sharing the wide-body cab of the T680 and T880 in real-life, it is the longest-hood conventional ever produced by Kenworth.
In the game the vehicle has a unique skin.[1] This highway truck has no AWD, which is the main disadvantage, but has always on diff. lock. It is the only truck with dead axle that has raised suspension option. It supports the trunk repair supplies, which carry 300 repair points and 140L of fuel. Its unique engine, the Prime C13, has 228k torque, but a large fuel consumption of 8.8 L/Min.
W990 has the unique off-road tires and the large choice of frame addons, like the log carriers (it also can install the log crane + log carrier) combo, flatbed & sideboard bed (both of them are compatible with crane + flatbed + trailer combo), fuel & fire tank, seismic vibrator and etc.
Season 12 update[]
With a Season 12 update, the Kenworth W990 gets its diff. lock always on instead switchable. Besides, the truck was reclassified as Highway one. Its unique tires also have been changed for better off-roading, their friction has been changed to:
- Asphalt: 0.8
- Dirt: 3.1
- Mud: 3.4
Pros[]
- Roof Rack support
- Supports crane + flatbed/sideboard + trailer combo
- Supports LP-4 Log-loader crane + Log Carrier Front + Log Carrier Rear combo
- Can install almost all addons for almost every truck
Cons[]
- No AWD, meaning it is not a good choice for off-roading
- It has a dead axle, which makes it 8x4
- It can install 52" tires with raised suspension, but has no upgradeable wheel size on dead axle
- Cannot tow trailer with a medium logging frame addon
