Imandra is the 2nd map in the Kola Peninsula and Phase 1 DLC of SnowRunner and 14th map overall.
Description[]
Imandra is by far one of, if not the toughest map to date in SnowRunner. There are very few paved roads and numerous obstacles on the main roads. Its lack of a fuel station and somewhat rare fuel trailers scattered across the map make fuel management an absolute must before facing the brutal region.
Imandra is a very difficult map due to its complex main road that has many obstructions that can not be cleared which forces players to rely on alternate routes. Because some of the easiest routes require tight turns with little space, longer trucks or trucks pulling semi trailers are very risky to use so players typically must rely on trucks with flatbeds or smaller trailers to haul cargo effectively. Imandra has a bit less ice than Lake Kovd but deep snow is just as common making some segments extremely challenging. Some paths that are available feature deep slopes coated with ice making chained tires an absolute must if the player wishes to use certain roads like the northeastern road. The frozen lake in the center of the map can be used as a quick way to travel across the map but the rock covered beach must be crossed which makes trucks with low suspension a poor choice on this map.
The main objectives of this map is the recovery of lost World War 2 era vehicles. Specifically a lost Allied bomber and 2 Russian armored cars. Both of these contracts are extremely difficult and require careful planning and proper vehicle choices. The garage activation is also an absolute must as this sets a good starting point for attempting any contracts in the map.
Imandra features only 1 lost vehicle that can be added to the players fleet and 5 vehicle upgrades including a powerful engine for the F750 and suspension options for the new TUZ 108 "Warthog".
Tips[]
- Mud tires and Off-road tires are a must for this map. This map has some of the deepest snow and mud and extremely poor roads.
- High Power winches for heavier trucks can make the difference between a successful drive and a stuck truck.
- Bring a buddy! Having multiple trucks or multiple players can make facing the unforgiving terrain easier and make recovery missions less time consuming.
- Fuel economy is key. Though Imandra does have fuel trailers scattered across the map, certain trucks are a poor choice to bring such as the ANK MK38 and Azov 5319 due to their small fuel tanks and high fuel consumption, so bringing a friend can be even more valuable to carry extra fuel containers.
