The E-7310 is an 8x8 truck in Spintires and MudRunner.

Description[]

The E-7310 is a heavy 8x8 military truck and widely regarded as the king of both games. As the largest and most powerful vehicle, it is best used as a recovery and support vehicle, but is also able to haul logs when necessary. Its powerful engine and massive wheels allow it to navigate the harshest terrains with little to no difficulty. Additionally, its huge size and weight give it tremendous pulling power, making it an excellent tractor. It has a very high fuel consumption rate, which is fortunately offset with a large fuel tank.

Pros[]

  • It's the king: the biggest and most powerful truck in the game.
  • Can crawl almost anywhere, albeit slowly.
  • Only threatened by deep water.
  • Nearly impossible to reach its damage capacity. It is simply not fast enough to get much damage by hitting something, and it's too large and unwieldy to get into terrain where a rollover, tipping, etc. could happen.
  • A massive fuel tank ensures an adequate range, despite its high fuel consumption.
  • Can fill a Lumber Mill in a single trip.

Cons[]

  • Its crushing weight means it sinks like a rock when traversing any terrain other than tarmac or solid rock.
  • Slow no matter the situation, but it absolutely crawls in water or deep mud.
  • Engine has a low drowning point, which really limits its fording capabilities. This can be dangerous in a convoy. If the operator is driving a more capable truck, the E-7310 can quickly get in over its head, and stall. This is a situation to be avoided at all costs.
  • Once it's stuck, it's basically a lost cause. If the operator actually has the talent and luck (or distinct lack thereof), to get this truck stuck away from any winch points, another 8x8 or the C-255 (likely both) are the only viable options for recovering it from whatever situation it got it into. Either way, the time and resources required to stage a recovery of this magnitude will almost certainly outweigh the resource depletion of just continuing without it.
  • Highest fuel consumption of any playable vehicle in the game.
  • Despite only needing to take one trip to fill a Lumber Mill, it travels so slowly when fully loaded that from a practical standpoint, it's more efficient to take multiple trips with a faster truck, like the C-255, or even create a 6x6 convoy. Transporting logs this way means it is still possible to fill the Lumber Mill in one trip, and the convoy travels much faster. Even the fuel usage ends up being about the same.
