Derry Special 15C-177 is an 8x8 tractor unit in SnowRunner introduced in the Renew & Rebuild DLC.
A heavy military truck that first entered service with the US Army about 40 years ago. It has a powerful engine and increased load capacity. This modification was successfully converted to the needs of the fire department and equipped with a special tank for transporting water.

Derry Special 15C-177 is found on The Albany River map in Ontario on the course of Looking for the fire monster contract. The mission is available after completing Service Center and Exploring the Burned-out Infrastructure contracts, player has to deliver the 15C-177 to the Fire Department Parking Lot and then repair and refuel it to complete the contract. Derry Special 15C-177 is granted to the player as a part of the reward and player is able to purchase more of this vehicle in the truck store afterwards.
Description[]
The Special 15C-177 is primarily based off the Oshkosh M1120A4, a specialized heavy duty 8x8 made for the United states military. The Derry Special is based on a A4 variant Oshkosh due to its use of air ride suspension and caterpillar engine paired with an Allison 4000 transmission. The Derry Special has a more curved appearance overall in its cab design. This is most evident in some details like the doors which are much bulkier with an angled bump in the center of the door panels. The cab has been slightly lengthened as well to fit additional windows beside the A-pillars. Other changes include the turn signal and headlight bulb positions being swapped, the cab roof lights being slightly smaller, and a sloped roof instead of a completely flat roof.
The Derry Special is the most adaptable sibling in the Derry Longhorn family and a worthy successor to their legacy. It posses an incredibly power engine, always on 8x8 drivetrain, and a versatile selection of add-ons making it well suited for most jobs. The Derry Special comes equipped with a unique set of off-road tires that provide great traction in dirt and decent traction in mud but it can equip wider more capable mud tires. With proper tires and an upgraded engine the Derry special can easily rip through mud at a steady pace but its switchable differential lock does force it to drive slower to maintain a steady pace. Due to the Derry Specials long wheelbase it does struggle a bit on tight turns especially when equipped with a trailer but its steering is fairly responsive making quick corrections easy to make.
The Derry special utilizes the modern Westline engines for its powertrain selection with an additional exclusive engine that surpasses virtually every other engine in game. The Gb-8V 3500T sports a whooping power output of 280,000 Ncm of torque or roughly 2065 foot pounds. The Derry Special befitting its weight class and role also uses the standard heavy class gearboxes including the special, advanced special, fine-tune, and multi-purpose. The Derry Special also has access to a generous amount of frame add-ons including both US cranes, flatbed, maintenance body, multi-purpose cargo module, and a unique fire tank body. It can also equip a roof rack to supplement its large fuel tanks.
The Derry Special is equipped with a 380L fuel tank, but due to its very heavy weight and large engines it does consume fuel quite fast. Thankfully this can be rectified by using its roof rack which provides 120L of fuel.

- The Derry Special 15C-177's transmission appears to be modeled after a Allison 4000 transmission, which is accurate to it in the real world. Interestingly enough, the "Allison" name logo on the casing is spelled as "Allisa", in addition when using free camera, the Derry Special's engine is visible as a Caterpillar C15, but its CAT logo has been respelled as CAD.
