A GMC MH9500 with an LC 3.8 Loading Crane
Cranes are frame add-ons in the base game of SnowRunner. They are used in a variety of roles, primarily for cargo/vehicle loading/recovery.
The game features 2 compact cranes and 2 heavy cranes, each of the type for North American and Eurasian vehicles, Explore & Expand DLC features a new compact crane for KRS 58 "Bandit", the Build & Dispatch DLC features a new compact crane for two Tatra vehicles and the Season 10 update features one more heavy crane. Some vehicles are compatible with a Crane and a Bed.
Season 3 update introduced a new type of cranes - Log Cranes - used specifically with log cargo instead of regular one.
Usage
- A Crane can be operated only when the engine of the truck is running by opening the Functions Menu.
- Entering crane mode shows a legend of buttons to operate it outside of Immersive Mode.
- The crane's rope can be attached to other objects, such as cargo or vehicles. This comes into conflict with the Winch, and using one will detatch the other. Winch upgrades have no effect on Cranes.

LC 3.8 Loading CraneA compact crane available to most North American and British vehicles that have a frame space, the crane costs 5700 currency to buy. International Loadstar 1700, Navistar 5000-MV and Kenworth 963 have a unique version of this crane with extended anchor width and/or length, it makes those versions of that crane not exchangeable with other vehicles and vice versa.

IM50 Loading CraneA compact crane available to most Eurasian vehicles that have a frame space, the crane costs 5700 currency to buy. ZiKZ 612H and Burlak 6x6 both have a unique version of this crane with extended anchor length, it makes the Burlak 6x6 versions of that crane not exchangeable with other vehicles and vice versa, while the ZiKZ 612H's version is exchangeable with other vehicles and vice versa.

PC-320 Heavy CraneA heavy crane available to most North American vehicles that have a frame space. The crane is unlocked upon reaching the rank 6 and costs 7500 currency to buy. White Western Star 4964 has a unique version of this crane with extended anchor width, however this version is exchangeable with other vehicles and vice versa.

Avto-23 Heavy CraneA heavy crane available to most Russian vehicles that have a frame space. The crane is unlocked upon reaching the rank 6 and costs 7500 currency to buy. ZiKZ 605R has a unique version of this crane with an extended frame, however this version is exchangeable with other vehicles and vice versa.

LK-2NYA heavy crane added in Season 10 available to selected vehicles with a longer frame. The crane is unlocked upon reaching the rank 6 and costs 9400 currency to buy. It is a required add-on to complete Power Line Repair 1 and Power Line Repair 2 tasks in British Columbia. ZiKZ 612H has a unique version of this crane, it makes that versions not exchangeable with other vehicles and vice versa

- The full in-game name of the PC-320 Heavy Crane is PROFCRANE 320 SOC 250-05.
- The IM50 Loading Crane is based on an actual Inman IM 50 crane-manipulator produced by JSC "INMAN", interestingly the in-game version kept the real model name.
- The Avto-23 Heavy Crane is based on IVANOVETS KS-35715-2 crane produced by AVTOKRAN Ivanovo Machinery plant which the name nods to.
- The KRS 58 Crane is based on TADANO Z303SL crane, the name is spoofed to BANANO.
- The TAT-12 Loading Crane is based on HIAB XS 477 EP-2 Hi Pro produced by Cargotec.
- The LK-2NY crane is based on Crossover 6000 8produced by Terex Cranes, although in-game version has a flipped cabin.
- The full in-game name of the LK-2NY crane is LIFTING KING PT-33-23966-2 NY.
- The entirety of Multi-purpose Cargo Module is based on equipment modules of the MIOM-M truck built on the chassis of MZKT-7930 "Astrologer".
- The PC-320 Heavy Crane is based on the Tadano TL-300E and is not a truck crane, instead being mounted on a variety of dedicated Mobile Crane chassis.
