This articles covers the MILITARY variant in base game; for CIVILIAN variant of the same truck added in Season 6 see: ANK MK38 CIVILIAN

The ANK MK38 is a truck in SnowRunner.

A military classic, the MK38 is an exceptional vehicle tuned for ultimate off-road performance. Featuring military-grade durability and a perfect combination of torque output and fuel consumption, this truck is a powerhouse of industrial transportation. However, all that military might comes with a cost. Due to stringent design guidelines, the truck includes a non-replaceable sideboard frame that is incompatible with other rear add-ons.

Ico unlockingUnlocking[]

The ANK MK38 is found on the Pedro Bay map in Alaska, parked in the northwestern portion of the map near the pipelines and in pristine condition and can be located by following the pipeline. Once found, the player is able to purchase more of this vehicle in the truck store afterwards.

Description[]

The ANK MK38 is primarily based off the AM General M939. It is nearly identical with slight modifications to the grille and turn signal design.

The MK38 is a juggernaut offroad. Even without engine and gearbox upgrades it is among the fastest offroad trucks in the game, due in no small part with its Always On AWD and Diff Lock. It also possesses an impressive power-to-weight ratio allowing it to move loads without any major loss of speed, sometimes even including an attached trailer. With upgrades, it is nearly unstoppable and will tear through any kind of terrain at an impressive rate. Its default tires also have excellent mud ratings which give the vehicle lots of traction. It can be equipped with AMHS Mud Tires to further improve its performance as of Phase 2, as well as Tuned Custom Suspension for increased ground clearance if stability isn't a concern.

Its good performance however is offset by its monstrous fuel consumption and poor stability, both of which hamper its speed advantage greatly. While mud tires can deal with the latter and give the vehicle extra grip, its short operating range is a huge problem. Its other weakness lies in its total lack of frame add-ons, restricting it to more of a cargo hauler more than anything else.

Pros[]

  • High speed off-road.
  • High power to weight ratio.
  • Stock tires are fairly decent in mud and very good in dirt.
  • One of the few American vehicles compatible with Mud Tires.
  • Can be found for free.
  • Always On Diff Lock and AWD.

Cons[]

  • High fuel consumption for its small fuel tank.
  • Cannot support any frame add-ons, necessitating other vehicles for loading cargo.
  • Stock tires and suspension upgrades can dramatically reduce its already low stability, especially when trying to take advantage of its speed.

Upgrade locations[]

  • Raised suspension - Pedro Bay, Alaska. The upgrade is located west of the warehouse near the watchtower.
  • Tuned custom suspension - Flooded Foothills, Yukon. Located in the middle of the map.
  • Active suspension - Big Salmon Peak, Yukon. Located in the west of the map.

Trivia[]

  • At some point in development, the ANK MK38 may have been intended to be able to support frame add-ons, much like how its real-life counterpart has various specialized variants. In the Pedro bay loading screen, the ANK MK38 can be seen hauling a heavy fuel trailer with a saddle high add-on. Furthermore in the game files a low and high saddle specifically intended for the MK.38 can also be found.
  • Before the Explore & Expand update, the ANK MK38 originally shared its horn with the Voron D-53233.
