Unlocking

The AFIM S1960 is found on the Coconino map in Arizona on the course of Out of the Dirt task. The mission is available after unlocking Coconino via Conquest of the Frontier, Squatters Rights, Fallen from Heaven and In Order to Preserve contracts, player has to pull out and deliver the S1960 to the Mountain Base to complete the task. Completing the mission unlocks AFIM S1960 for purchase.

Description

AFIM S1960 appears to be based on the Fiat 690 T1, a 6x4 classic truck produced by Italian truck manufacturer Fiat in 1961.

Trivia

• Before the Breaking Ground update, AFIM S1960 shared its horn with a Step 310E. This isn't for the first time when one vehicle shared its horn with another one. For the first time, it was in SnowRunner, when ANK MK38 shared its horn with a Voron D-53233.
  • However, its horn could be found since the release of Scout 800 in Expeditions, but it still used Step 310E horn.
• The name S1960 is a reference to AFIM S1960's production year. Its production year is 1961, meaning it was produced in 1960s.
• In real life, Fiat 690 T1 does not come with all-wheel drive setup, it was not switchable back and forth with the rear-wheel drive one like it does on the in-game AFIM S1960. Switchable setup is likely a fictional compromise between the two models, same thing was with the ZiKZ 5368 comparing to real life MAZ-500 truck.
• AFIM S1960, alongside with a DON 71 and Tatra 805 are only vehicles in the game that change fuel tank capacity with lift kit suspension.
